We went to visit Luke on Monday and had another great visit. When we got to the orphanage the director was surprised to see us because our court rep. forgot to call and let her know that we were accepting her invitation to visit. Luke was on a walk with his group so we went to the local cafe for some more solanka soup and hot tea. He was waiting for us when we got back and he ran right up to us to be picked up. We had a tea party with him and he played a mini keyboard for us. He loves to go through our backpack, and he pulled out the iPod and put the earphones on to listen to the music, he said in his language before we turned it on 'a song'!

We brought Luke another pear and he was a very happy boy! Our translator, Mila, brought him some Cok (pronunced sok) juice and he loved that, too. He loves for his Papa to swing him in the air, he laughs and Marks says again? and he says Yes!
When it was time for us to leave he looked sad, a good sign that he is bonding very well with us.
We went to our missionary friend's apartment and they are so wonderful, they cooked us pizza for dinner and let us do a load of laundry in their washing machine. They drove us back to our hotel where a phone call
from our agency awaited us with frustrating news. The judge is holding up the progress of our court dates with paperwork hurdles. Please pray that God will give us divine intervention because we feel at this point that is what it is going to take to get in for court. Our court rep is meeting with the judge and an attorney she hired on our behalf today (Tuesday) and we hope God sends us a compromise with the judge. The other family is still here and it is really good to have friends to talk and pray with. Another family decided to delay their trip because of these new hurdles. Thank you all so much for the prayers and

Apparently our visas are messed up so even if we could still have court we wouldn't be able to bring Dmitry home. I am soooo frustrated. I am praying for you all and you are in my thoughts constantly. I am a big grouch today. Keep me posted.

All things happen for the glory of God.... Right now, these delays are causing prayers to our Savior, which is truly glorious. We are lifting you up, and will continue to do so.
Love, Rachael
Hey guys, sorry this has taken so long...I couldn't figure out how to post:) Thank you for all the pics it is wonderful to see you all together and to see a current pic of Luke. The whole family and the Hot mamas have you in our prayers. LOVE YOU,LOVE YOU,LOVE YOU....Susan
What adorable pictures! It's so heartwarming to read your comments about your time with Luke. Sounds like he is quite fond of pears and music..a great way to help him acclimate to English! We're praying along with everyone else that God speeds the court through all the red tape...you've been faithful in trusting Him so far, so hang in there!! In Christ, Sherry
Danette and Mark,
It is so good to see the pictures of you and Luke! He is adorable and I am so happy to see you together. The delay's that you are experiencing are only temporary and I will say a special prayer so that you can bring your son home very soon. Kim

Can't explain why...but when I read your update today, all I could think of was you guys eating soup and between bites Mark saying, "Oh come on! Are you kidding me!? This is reeeediculous!...hey, you gonna eat the rest of that solankalanka whatever soup?"
So listen: maintain your levity. Maintin your consistency. Stay the course on this thing. We look forward to seeing you when you come home, whenver that might be.
Be good and be strong.
-Pax
Who would believe that seeing Luke sad is a good thing?:) I am happy to hear you guys are becoming meaningful in his life. Remember, God is everywhere -- especially with you in Russia. Stay strong.

Dan is right about these blogs. A mind of their own! I sent one that did not show. It said sorry I mispelled family and said we were all praying for the new church! God knew I meant judge! Hope you did also. Pastor Ron has his praying friends all over the world praying for this. Marie in Texas asked her large church. Faith Family Church here. Matt said his church was. With your family, friends and church----YOU ARE COVERED!!! We have an opportunity to see God work. Love Mom & Dad
