Today we had our first car ride with Luke, it was a very special moment for us as parents. Kirill drove us, along with his group leader, to the passport photo office in Troitsk (about a 25 minute drive from his orphanage). He was such a big boy, he let me set him on the chair and he smiled for the photo, but the man taking the picture said don't smile! Then we got to take him on a little walk while the photos were
developed. He held my hand, walked right along with us and looked at the snow with us, such a good boy.

We got back to the orphanage at the time our visit is supposed to end, but they let us stay an extra hour so we could play. We had brought two tangerines and some juice and forgot his cookies at the hotel. He
ate both tangerines as fast as I could peel them and then ran over to the backpack and jumped up and down, looking for more to eat! Papa to the rescue--he had Kirill zip him over to a little kiosk store and bought a whole bag full of goodies. Luke grabbed it from him when he walked in with it and started tearing in to the bag of crackers and tea cookies. He ate and ate! Mark bought us a snack, too, and h
e asked him to bring it to me and he said MAMA! here!!
We left at 1pm so he could take a nap and we made our way back to town just in time to rest and get ready to go see the Nutcracker ballet with 'the gang'. It was beautiful and the girls really enjoyed it, the boys....well....let's just say they made it through!
Tomorrow we will take part in a special Russian bonding experience. It's called a Banya and you go with frie
nds and sit in a sauna and then you either roll in the snow or plunge in to a cold pool. Then they lightly smack you (seems like a contradiction in terms, huh?) with Banya tree branches. There are lots of snacks and drinks and it is supposed to be a really good time. We'll post some photos of it tomorrow when we get back. Til later, have a great day, we're headed to bed :-)

Hey there,
We had snow here yesterday which is always exciting. Not near as cold as it is there.
It sounds like you three are having fun and creating some great memories. Thank you for sending the pics I love seeing you guys.
Bye for now, you are continually in our prayers. Have fun and the Banya; choose the snow.
Love ya,

Danette,
The picture of you and Luke walking hand in hand in the snow soothes my soul. I often quote "footprints in the sand" but from now on....I will think footprints in the snow. The Lord and His love have carried you through! Today, reading your blogs, my faith is STRONG!! Thank you for that. Let me know when I can come over and meet Luke! Love Rosemary
Of all the pictures we seem to have enjoyed the last few days the most. Great to see the country. And the picture of little Luke walking in the snow holding MaMa's hand was precious. Wonderful pictures, The country has a great deal of beauty. It is so much fun to share this with our friends. They all feel as if they know him personally. Hugs to you all. Love you-Mom & Dad
Danette & Mark:
Loved all the pictures that you post on the blog site. I especailly loved the one with you and Mark in the snow scene. Too bad you didn't have Luke in the picture with you. Would have made a wonderful Christmas card. Enjoy everyday that you are there, for the time goes by so fast. Sometimes I know that it is not fast enough. But, you are creating lots of memories being in another country and will be sharing all this as Luke gets older. You and Mark, and Luke are still in our prayers that everything is going as planned and you'll be home before you know it. Keep the pictures coming, we thoroughly enjoy each one. Love to all of you.

My Dear Robb Family, I am so overjoyed that this has come to an end and you are headed home. A day has not go by that I do not think of the 3 of you. Praise The Lord and A Very Blessed Christmas you are having. This has made a very Merry Christmas to so many. God Speed, my prayers continue for your safe return. It is really snowing her in MN. It was 40 yesterday and this morning it was 37. We had rain then the temp dropped and we have the most wonderful snow for Christmas. However I am flying out tomorrow to be with Toby and Amy and her family. Oh well I will get there. They too are so thrilled for you as so many are. You have touch so many. It is an honor to call you friend. You are truly an inspiration sent from God. You Loving Friebd Kathy Crea.
